Class 8 - Corrosive Label

The abrasive material is a liquid or solid that causes full-thickness destruction of human skin in the contact area within a certain period of time.

A liquid with a severe corrosion rate on steel or aluminum is also a corrosive material, according to the criteria in 49CFR 173.137.

This class includes other substances that only form corrosive liquids in the presence of water or that produce corrosive vapors or mist in the presence of natural humidity of the air.
